Performing Arts is a professional performing arts company that strives to present the medium of live performance in a way that engages its audience and sparks a dialogue about the relevance of the art regardless of genre, time period, or subject matter of the performance. Academy Private Lesson Studio Policy

Studio Philosophy

We live our mission every day in our Academy by: Creating an environment in which our students are encouraged to be artists at all times. Working together as a faculty to aid our students in all aspects of their artistry. Giving foundational instruction that will allow the students to improve the accuracy, facility, and ability to create music on their respective instrument. Challenging the students to learn appropriate skills and techniques that support and enhance their capability to express themselves in their art form and go “beyond the page” of their music. REAL Performing Arts is a subsidiary of The United Gathering Place, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Private Lessons: Lessons are held weekly. Lessons include technique, repertoire, and musicianship skills including: performance, theory, sight-reading, composition, aural training, improvisation, accompanying, and ensemble. OPTIONS The Academy teachers will define the length of the lesson after conferring with the student and their parents/guardians. The lesson options offered are 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length. Students will agree to attending lessons for an entire semester. If a student wishes to start lessons in the middle of a semester, a pro-rated fee will be worked out between The Academy and the student based on the number of remaining weeks in the semester. Students from previous semesters will be given preference for space in a specific teacher’s studio and for days and times of lessons.
